This page should give those of you who are still thinking about applying to RWTH Aachen University an introduction to the application processes at our university. For all the other international and exchange students who are already studying at our department it should help to find the right contact person for different problems and wishes.
We are happy to welcome you and to have you with us in Aachen and hope to give you the opportunity to gain some helpful academic and personal experience.
ERASMUS+
ERASMUS+ applicants find all information needed for a successful application to RWTH Aachen University here. Take a look at the steps and listed documents which you find under the heading: "Exchange students from ERASMUS countries [...]". You need to fill those documents in and send them to the given address by May 31. Your contact person from the International Office will help you with all questions regarding the application and the first steps when arriving in Aachen.
Moreover, there will be people to help you with all academic issues. For administrative academic stuff like Learning Agreements or Transcripts of Records, please contact our departmental coordinator. She might also help you with problems or questions concering other aspects of your student life in Aachen.

Metallurgical Engineering
Metallurgical Engineering is a Master of Science program which you can undertake at RWTH Aachen University. It is concerned with the development, production, and processing of ferrous, non-ferrous, and mineral materials. It is the basis for innovative products and new technological developments in the fields of industry, technology, and medicine. Research in our department focuses on materials design. It includes general research to ascertain the structure of and opportunities for optimising known materials (e.g. steel, aluminium, magnesium, glass, ceramic, etc.). Scientists in this division also deal with issues relating to surface technology, recycling, manufacturing, and processing, using state-of-the-art production processes including quality assurance inspections.
